had waged against each other, and It was the best
time we had ever had. We youngsters were glad
to be at peace with the Crows; for we had liked
them ever since we met some of their boys and
played with them that day and night on the river-
bank, months before. We exchanged many pre-
sents before we parted, and some of us adopted
'brothers' among the Crow boys.
